Preparing Your Team

After you've figured out your organization’s readiness, you'll need a plan to prepare your agency to provide services for women of trans experience. Finally, you are ready to hire your team. This page has examples of hiring guidance, job descriptions and organizing a trans community advisory board. Other implementation tools needed to ensure a successful and supportive team are also included.

Side Note: During the hiring process, hiring managers and supervisors should be sensitive to the possibility that applicants have transitioned or in the process of transitioning. The name and gender on the application may or may not correspond with the their gender identity. However, in such case, it is appropriate to respectfully ask the person how they identify so that you can use the proper gender pronouns during the hiring process.
